Welcome to www.chenda.co many of you are familiar with Chenda, a Mumbai-based publication standing always with those fighting for the peoples cause, even when its regularity was inaccurate. Whether it was in the areas of art, literature, politics, culture, environment, or any other topic that affects or impacts society, Chenda had and still has an ideological commitment that has never been compromised. The aforementioned statement is supported by Chenda’s cultural programmes and published books, and it continues with this ‘insistence’ on its stand and its ‘prejudices’.

Nowdays fascism functions using a thousand facets of modern capitalism and its rotten values, not only in the realm of power but also in concepts, beliefs and culture. Though the world it creates is dark, we, knowing the history are sure that Indian society would reach the light of freedom, liberty, vastness of sky and the light at the end of the tunnel. When all sounds of opposition are muffled either through appeasement, placation or torture, Chenda would stand with those who play the alarm drums loud making the ones they oppose restless and tense. That remains the manifesto of Chenda.

Chenda is returning to its readers after a protracted hiatus, this time as a bilingual portal committed to a new media culture. We, along with the new works would be re-publishing the ones that had been included in our earlier version.
