On 7th April,1918, motivated by the artists M. K. Parandekar and G.P. Fernandes, many stalwart indian artists gathered together and formed THE ART SOCIETY OF INDIA, an organization working to support Indian artists and Indian art forms. This year the society has completed it’s 107th year of dedicated service towards art and art fraternity. It is the most active society, arranging various art related activities for their members. Society also arranges events for public at large to create iterest in visual arts. It tries to nurture the academic art styles as well as keeps pace with the contemporary art practices. Every year the society arranges an All india Annual Art Exhibition to extend a platform for all the indian artists and art school students in a prestigious art gallery in Mumbai, The Jehangir Art Gallery, at Kala ghoda. This year the exhibition is being held during 18th to 24th February 2025 and is open for all between 11.0 a.m. to 7.0 p.m. On the day of the inauguration of the exhibition through the Art Society on 18th February, on behalf of the society, President Sanjay Kamble welcomed and felicitated Mr. Nimkar of Chaturanga Pratishthan, and Mr. Dr. Sudhir Patwardhan was felicitated by Mr. Nimkar of Chaturanga Pratishthan and presented with the “Kalasrujan” award.

At the same time, the Society was fortunate to felicitate the famous painter Mr. Vasudev Kamat, who has been a member of the Society since long, and the famous letter writer and Padma Shri awardee Mr. Achyut Palav, who has been a member of the Society since long. We are happy about this. After this, the prize distribution ceremony was held for the winners. At this time, all 11 members of the Society implemented all the above activities in a very short time, due to which all the members and painters expressed satisfaction.
