This month, the FPH Gallery at Free Press House, Nariman Point, welcomes visitors into a peaceful and powerful world of art. Artists Subhash Wagh and Jenson Joseph have come together for a special group exhibition called Silent Energies, open to the public until June 30, 2025.
The exhibition brings together two different artistic styles, but both are deeply connected by a shared love and respect for nature and spiritual energy.
Colour and Devotion: The Art of Subhash Wagh
Subhash Wagh creates bold and colourful paintings that come from his deep faith and connection to the divine feminine power, Aadi Shakti. He describes his art as a kind of prayer—a way to connect mind, body, and soul through surrender.
“Unknowingly, I surrendered at her lotus feet,” says Wagh. “From that surrender came a powerful energy that now flows into my work.”
His paintings are full of bright, glowing colours that express love, emotion, and spiritual energy. He believes that colours are like two lovers meeting on the canvas. His motto is simple but beautiful: “A storm of ideas and romance in colours.”
Even after many years as an artist and winning many awards, Wagh still feels excited and full of energy. He quotes the poet Robert Frost: “Miles to go before I sleep,” showing that for him, the journey of creativity never ends.
Nature and Silence: The Art of Jenson Joseph
In contrast to Wagh’s bright and expressive style, Jenson Joseph works in a calm and thoughtful way. His paintings are inspired by the quiet rhythms of nature—light, wind, earth, and the feeling of stillness.
“I surrendered to the silent rhythm of nature,” says Jenson. In that silence, he discovered both his artistic voice and a deeper understanding of life.
Jenson calls nature his first guru. His paintings don’t show real objects or places, but rather the feelings and energies that come from within. His abstract works use layers, textures, and natural tones to create a peaceful and emotional space for the viewer.
Through his art, Jenson invites people to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their inner self—to find stillness in a busy world.
Two Artists, One Spirit
Although their styles are very different, Subhash Wagh and Jenson Joseph are united by a deep connection to spiritual energy and nature. Wagh brings energy and devotion through colour, while Jenson brings calmness and reflection through abstract form.
Together, they create a space where art is not just for looking—but for feeling. Silent Energies is not only an art exhibition—it’s a spiritual experience.
